All aboard CAHP's Caravan des Collegues!

September 2008

The Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals invites you to join CAHP members and others for a fun group train trip from Montreal to Quebe City to attend the Heritage Canada Foundation's 35th Anniversary Conference in Quebec City, September 2008. Whether you take planes, trains or automobiles to Montreal - make the last leg of your trek to "QC2008" on VIA 1 First Class including dinner and cocktails.  Your social networking will be well underway before you even arrive at the conference!  Between the hassle and cost of connecting flights and taxis or fuel and parking in downtown Quebec, this is a cost-effective option that adds interest to your conference experience.

VIA Train # 24 leaves the station in downtown Montreal at 16:15 (4:15 pm) on Wednesday, September 24 and will arrive in downtown Quebec City at 19:29 (7:29 pm).  The station is right downtown - walking distance from the hotels and conference venues.

VIA Rail offers a special conference discount of 10% to groups with a minimum of 50 passengers if booked ahead.  After the conference group discount is applied, this trip (one-way, taxes in) would cost approximately $128 per seat including dinner and cocktails.  Individual ticket discounts are also possible for connecting trains if they are booked in advance.

"Landmark Not Landfill" Conference

Collingwood, Ontario
May 30 - June 1, 2008

The organizing committee for the Heritage Conservation Conference would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all the speakers, sponsors, participants, and volunteer workers who helped to make this a successful event. A special thanks to the over 200 delegates who gathered in Collingwood over the weekend. We are truly honoured to have had the opportunity to host the 2008 Conference. Good luck to Peterborough in 2009.  Conference presentations are now online at heritagecollingwood.ca
